Asbestos Building Inspector & Management Planner

The Building Inspector and Management Planner courses are required for individuals identifying, evaluating and recommending response actions for Asbestos-Containing Materials located in Elementary and Secondary Educational facilities (schools).

The Inspector course is required at a minimum for individuals performing Asbestos Inspections in Commercial & Public facilities, specifically prior to Renovation & Demolition activities. These courses meet requirements established by the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act, the Asbestos School Hazard Abatement Reauthorization Act, the Illinois Department of Public Health ant the Missouri Department of Natural Resources.

In addition to IL, MO and Arkansas, our certificates for the in person initial and refresher courses for Asbestos Inspector/Management Planner are accepted by Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky (certificate needs to be embossed), Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Nevada, New Mexico, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina (certificate needs last 4 digits of student’s SSN), Utah, West Virginia and Wyoming (additional state licensing fees may apply). Please inform your instructor if you will need your certificate embossed or your last 4 digits of your SSN added.

Initial (REGISTER)
The Management Planner course is required for individuals consulting with K-12 schools on managing Asbestos-Containing Building Materials (ACBM) discovered during the required school inspection and updating management strategies on ACBM that has changed in its condition discovered during the school’s required 3 year re-inspection.

Asbestos Building Inspector and Management Planner Re-certification is designed to be taken as either one full-day course or two 1/2 day courses.  It meets AHERA and ASHARA standards for re-certification, as well as Illinois Department of Public Health and the Missouri Dept. of Natural Resources requirements.

Participants can register for the Building Inspector re-certification, the Management Planner re-certification, or both. A re-certification course must be taken EACH year in order to maintain accreditation and to be eligible for the renewal of state Building Inspector or Management Planner license, or for continued accreditation as a Building Inspector (AHERA/ASHARA) or Management Planner (AHERA only).
